What's the going rate for Children in Need donation at nursery?

Hello, DD's nursery is asking for donations for Children in Need and also for her to wear her pyjamas on the day.

Would it be taken the wrong way for me to dress her up in normal clothes? I'm afraid the feet on her pyjamas may be uncomfortable with her shoes on.

Also how much should we donate? Her dad says 1£ but that sounds stingy, it's a small nursery, if each family gives 1£ they'll hardly collect anything. Due to covid drop-off an pick-up are rushed affairs so I can't ask other parents or spy on how much they're giving.

I'm not from the UK originally and she's our first so it's a bit unchartered waters for me, advice gladly taken. Thank you.

Whatever you can afford OP. A pound is fine.

What about leggings and a PJ top?

I'd put her in whatever she's most comfortable. Leggings and pj top?
The day is fun and it's not really about what the DC are wearing so long as they are comfortable.
I think £1 donation is fine. If your nursery is anything like ours you'll be in the minority donating at allHmm

My kids schools usually ask for a £1 but this year all asking for food donations instead so they can make up food parcels for local families .

We were asked for £2 this year.

faithfulbird20 · 11/11/2020 07:31

We were told 50p due to what's going on right now.

£1 and if she doesn’t have pjs without feet then leggings & top would be fine.
