Thoughts on full time Vs part time school nurseries

Need to apply for my DD's nursery soon - ones attached to primary schools. She will be 3 in June and would start next September. Just wanted to know what people think about full time vs part time? I am a SAHM and also have twins 1.5 years younger than her. I thought to send her full time just because that's what I did growing up but having read a little, it may be more advantageous for her to still spend quite a bit of time at home with me and her siblings. She's also never been to a private nursery so may be a big jump. We can afford full time so that's not an issue. Just wanted to see what people's experiences are. Thanks

We didn't put our dc in the nursery attached to their school because they wanted them either full time or every morning /afternoon. We went with a pre school that wrre more flexible instead, so they did 2 full days (9-3) for the year before starting school. It worked really well for us, I loved having dd (my youngest)at home three days a week for that year, but I didn't have tiny twins too!

If your not working you won't get 30 hours funding school nurseries dont normally have the facility to take cash for education. Personally i feel they start school very early nowadays it used to be full time at 5 then term before 5 now were putting them in at jyst gone 3. School nursery tends to be less about warm and nurturing and more about education despite following the eyfs

I'm a teacher and lucky to have family as wrap around care. My 3 year old does two half days a week at school nursery, will increase to three half days once he's settled. Works really well for us.

Wouldn't it be nice to have some dedicated time with the twins? (I'm due twins next year and have an older DD)

I'd put her in 5 afternoons/mornings using the 30 hours childcare

The school near us offers 2 full days and half a day as part time. Full time and we'd have 15 hours free and pay for 15 hours. It'd be nice for her to have 2.5 days at home with the twins too - I think it's as important for her to have a good relationship with them as it it to socialise with other children. My heart says part time but places are limited so we'll see!

@ivfbeenbusy Congrats on the twins!
