First time going to nursery

Hey there I am a new mum with a 14 month old and I decided to send her to nursery soon and we had a look around the other day and today we are going in for an hour chat and talk about some settling in sessions. I'm sooo nervous for baby girl because she won't quite understand what is going on but I'm also really excited for her because I know she will love it and as all the children's centres are closed, she will have the space to play with other toys and children in another environment. I was almost wishing I could stay with her and watch her play. Does anyone have any experience with 6 hours a day versus 3 hours a day. I'm thinking 6 hours might be too much for her but I'm wanting to get lots done whilst she is there so that it is more relaxing when she comes home and I have more energy for her but I'm thinking to start with 3 to settle her in.
Not sure if I wanted other advice more to just share my excitement as most people seem worried about childcare but I'm so excited for her more than me- I'll probably miss her!!

We did two sessions a week. 9 to 1. The problem with six hours for my Dd was she needs to sleep at 1 and wouldn't sleep there so was a nightmare after. Slept in car then up half the night. 1 meant she got lunch with other kids so worked well. Two sessions meant not to hard to settle or long inbetween.

I've taken her out new post covid, or not returned her but that's for other reasons.

I'd say at least two three hour days to start her off and move up to six hour days once she's settled and happy. Most children settle more quickly if they go more than once a week and the sessions are spaced out so they don't have a large gap between attending. It depends how flexible your nursery can be too.

Play for children is as tyring as work for us is. Play is both physically and mentally tyring. Our children are only small for a short while. If you don't have to fit child care around work then more short days is better than 1 long day.
