Hi all,

This is my first post, although I've been lurking for a while now!

I'll be going back to work in the summer, by which time my baby boy will be approximately nine months old. I'm hoping to go part time (2.5 days per week) but as we have no family able to support with childcare, I'll need to identify a nursery.
Before I had my son I felt really confident about this, but now he's here I feel really anxious and not sure where to start really!

Has anybody's child gone to a nursery in Uxbridge at this sort of age? Any reccomendations?

Many thanks!

What is right for one wont suit another. The best thing to do is to contact families information for a full list of providers and go visit a few. I would include childminders as you have no external support as the right childminder can give you support right through to the end of primary school and beyond. They are registered and inspected by the same body (Ofsted) and work to the same standards(EYFS). Your likely to experience less illness from your lo as less amount of new bugs to contend with (you will get some in the first few months that cant be totally avoided). Ask the cm about their sickness record and if they know anyone who maybe able to step in ( most are rarely sick) you would probably have to match their holidays but again most tell you well in advance and dont take much so you can still have your time too. Some work with co minders so may not totally shut.
