Hi just wondering what the etiquette is here really! My two children in the same nursery, DD is 2.5, and loves nursery and really engages. We luckily get an email newsletter every month and decembers has come through with the date of the childrens xmas party. Unfortunately, on a day when DD is not in. I feel sad for her to miss out as I think she would really enjoy it, but is it just a case of tough tatties she can’t go? How does it work at your nursery? Can they go if you pay for the session, do you stay? Or are all children invited? I don’t want to make myself look silly by emailing the manager if its just assumed that if your child isn’t in, they aren’t going if that makes sense.

It's best to ask, as different settings will have different policies. Some will just be tough luck if it's not your day and others will increase staffing so everyone can go (and pay).

At our nursery all children are invited, but if it's a day they're not usually in then the parents have to stay for the party so as not to affect the staff:child ratio.

We do what @PlugUgly1980 does.

My boss is meant to stop extras being booked in that day to help with numbers and ratios. Lets see what happens this year Hmm
