Bruises. Need advice.

So my Daughter has been coming home from nursery with a bruise on her leg on two different occasions. Same place on the top of her thigh, first vertical and then horizontal. I spoke to the nursery about it and I was told that the staff aren't able to watch when every child falls over and if they don't cry, then the staff won't know they've been hurt. I was told staff members would be spoken too. However, they're changing my Daughter's nappy every day she's in and I haven't once been informed or given an incident form about any falls/accidents/bruises.
I'm going to call in this morning before she attends, but I wanted to know what I can do about this?

You can either accept the nursery’s explanation or not
If you accept it then you keep sending her in
If you don’t then you withdraw her immediately and find another nursery
The nursery should have a system that documents any bruises seen, no matter how they are caused
At the very least, you should have an existing injuries form to sign each time a bruise is noticed at nappy change
You could make a formal complaint to the nursery or escalate it to ofsted if you have safeguarding concerns

What age is your child? Mobile children get bruises and the nursery won't be aware of most of them. The top of the thigh isn't an unusual place to get them and wouldn't spark concern in a child protection way. I honestly wouldn't worry about two bruises.

I agree entirely with @Apolloanddaphne. For a child to sustain two unexplained bruises is entirely unremarkable. I would simply monitor the situation and only be concerned if they never produced any paperwork over a significant period of time.

Strictly speaking, whoever is doing nappy changes ought to notice any bruising and query it with the room leader. They should then complete a report. But if they can’t be sure the bruise was sustained at nursery, they have to note the possibility that it could just as easily be an unexplained injury from home.

Are you thinking its deliberate? It's not unusual for children to get bruises but the location and shape can be unusual Google signs of abuse.
Every child will get bruises and many wont be noticed so may have no explanation or may come up after a nappy change. You should notify them of any injury sustained with you for an existing injury form and they should complete accident forms if they know of an accident.....but bumps will happen that have no obvious cause its impractical to say every time a child cries or sits down hard two staff members should grab a form and strip them off.
