Does this look like a bite mark to you?

DS said his friend "scratched" him at nursery today.

He's also got a protruding bump on his forehead with a graze that the nursery staff "hadn't noticed" and that he certainly hadn't started the day with.

Does this look like a bite mark to you?

Yes it looks like a bite to me.

MadameGazelleIsMyHomegirl · 01/07/2019 20:01

Could be. It certainly doesn’t look like a ‘scratch’ that’s for sure. I’d ask the nursery for more info.

Yes it's the round shape and the bruise in the middle which gives it away I think.

Will be emailing nursery shortly....

Unfortunately my 2 year old has bitten his little brother a few times and it looked just like this.

Monstermissy36 · 01/07/2019 20:03

I think maybe a grab/grip with some force... which may he why it's being described as a scratch? Sometimes kids do a big pinch type grab thing which is super spiteful...

Definitely looks like a bitemark to me, you can see two lines from the front teeth at the bottom right of the bruise

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 01/07/2019 20:04

Your nursery need a kick up the arse.
Of course that’s a bite.
And an undocumented incident including this or the bruise / bump to his head during THEIR care of him is unacceptable.

Hope he’s ok

insancerre · 03/07/2019 07:25

Yes it does look like a bruise
And I’m surprised that nobody noticed as that must have really hurt, it’s a very tender part of the body. He must have cried
How did nobody notice?
Ring and speak to the manager and ask them to find out what happened
They should investigate and get back to you. They should also complete accident forms so there is a record

KeepFuckingOff · 03/07/2019 07:31

Yes it looks like a bite. There’s not much nurseries can do about biting unfortunately but any accidents or incidents should be noted and recorded and explained to the parent at handover. Not noticing an obvious biting incident or a bump to the head is not acceptable.
