Good evening all,

I had a nursery viewing today for my child and im still disgusted from the place! Absolutely filthy. Seems it hasnt been cleaned in months about 5 children there. Saw some weave in the toys buckets. Shoes sprawled on the floor, dirty bottles pens not much toys, small room/ play area , dirty children. The whole place was filthy i was in absolute shock!

I don't usually do this but im feeling bad for these poor children! I just dont understand why any mother would allow there child there it definetly hasnt been cleaned in months thick dirt on floors and walls its horrible really brings me to tears thinking about the conditions these babies are left to play in. And they was bored as hell 2 nursery staff with little to no interaction with children.
I just need some advice before i go to bed on how to help these babies. I read the Ofsted report from the nursery and they already had complaints also deemed inadequate so why are they still running?

Long story short please how do i report this?

Call Ofsted.

If it's that disgusting, call Environmental Health at your local council.

Did you read their Ofsted report before hand?

Ofsted would want to know about anything unhygienic - give them a call or email.

Did you ask the nursery staff why it was in such a state?

WhenZogateSuperworm · 13/03/2019 12:16

If they are serving food then environmental health may be interested.

As already mentioned, you can report to Ofsted. This may or may not influence the process that is already in place.

If, as you state, they have been graded 'inadequate' that will have been the outcome of a full Ofsted inspection. An 'inadequate' judgement does not automatically result in immediate closure. An immediate suspension/closure only comes about if the inspector identifies a significant risk of immediate harm.

Ofsted will have issued a Welfare Requirement Notice which essentially tells the nursery what is wrong; what they need to see before it can be deemed to have been put right; and the deadline for the stated improvements.

The nursery will be subject to compliance monitoring visits to check on improvements and to ensure the WRN deadlines are adhered to. Inspectors can consider new or amended WRNs according to what they find. They can also consider enforcement actions, including suspension or cancellation of the nursery's Early Years registration, and possibly prosecution.

A full inspection should follow within 6 months of the 'inadequate' grade having first been made. This inspection is carried out even if the nursery met all the WRN requirements and deadlines.
