i have a really good friend with a 2 yr d. my friend starts work on 9 jul and has spent the past 2 wks introducing dd to daycare. this daycare is closed for the summer so i offered to take her without knowing that the holidays are longer than my sons first nursery place. i'm really worried if my son starts a wk later he will be the outsider(will he really know, hes just 3) but i know my friend is stuck. does anyone have any advice for someone who hates to say no?

do you want to keep your DS off so he can play with the other child?

It probably won't matter at all - I honestly think that children of this age don't really have friends that early on in nursery (well - mine didn't anyway!)

I started every year of my school life a week later than anyone else, right from Nursery - simply becasue my mother always booked the family holiday for the first week of school term (because it was cheaper). To this day, I remember every single starting day and remember I hated it. Althoug I did always end up making friends and settling in, by the end of that first missed week, everyone had already 'paired-up' and I was always the odd one-out, taking until almost the end of the first term (sometimes longer) to start fitting in.

i'm sorry let me be more clearer: we live in germany and if your child begins a group whatever age you have to spend some time there, if i go with the other girl too and leave my ds there and take the girl he will be devestatedxxx
