Reducing days/hours at nursery

Hi, so I return to work next week and my daughter starts nursery and she will be doing 3 full days. We worked her nursery pattern around my work patterns but my partner now has a more fixed shift pattern at work and we know exactly what days/ hours he will be working so he will be at home one of the days our daughter is in nursery and also he will be home every morning until 3pm. So we discussed maybe reducing her nursery days to 2 days and one of those days being a half day because it would save us money that we could really do with. My problem is am I aloud to change her hours now? I have already paid deposit and one months fees so I know this month it won't change but next month? I'm almost scared to ask them as I don't want to seem like I'm messing them around or anything. Just this would be much better of for us. I just wish we knew this earlier before securing her place.

Speak to them! See what is in your contract. You might have to give a month’s notice of changes anyway. How old is you’re daughter? Does your nursery provide the 15/30hrs early years funding? Do they prioritise existing private clients? Think about how reducing her time now might affect her nursery access later. Also, see if they are happy to have her fur such a short time too.

Thanks! But she's only 8 months old and I wouldn't be entitled to the free hours anyway
Hoping they will be okay with it

Unless they have a policy that you have to do 3 days minimum you should have no issue, with ours you have to give a months notice for any changes.

I don't remember reading anything about a minimum day policy so that's great. Thanks

My grandaughter gets funding for pre-school because she has had time off for illness they have told her they will cut her funded hours
