Settling in sessions

My 9month dd has her settling in sessions next week but just a bit confused

How many did you get for your nursery? Been given two but what if she needs more, they seemed to think two was enough
Just confused cos if she doesn't settle in well on both, shouldn't I be given another?

Thanks

How long do you have before your daughter starts her full nursery hours?

How long is it since you originelly booked her in, agreed the contract, etc?

What did you discuss and agree about the settling process at that time?

Offer to pay for more? They won’t say no and I think it’s a bit cheeky to expect it for free.

Unlimited settling in sessions at my children’s nursery and duration of less than half a day. 2 x 1 hour doesn’t seem like much at all.

I know it’s obvious, but I found that what they needed depended on the child. My first needed much longer than my second.

Thanks so much for everybody's kind responses, you don't know helpful it is , I don't have any other friends or family with same age dd so I feel I don't have people to talk to about it only the HV who seems like she thinks it should be ok

She's got two one hour settling in sessions and thereafter she's only in nursery once a week, she's only doing the one day as the other days she's with grandparents I've been very lucky
But decided on one day as too much for the grandparents plus I'm worried about all of their health. If for instance one day they're not well I'd need a backup so the nursery could be a backup too

She's very very clingy so yes maybe that's why I'm worrying
Iv been with her since baby breastfed for just under five months never been left alone until I went back to work part time and that was with the grandparents. So I think she will need a bigger adjustment period it's nice to hear everyone's positive stories
The first ones tomorrow so I am going to suggest she have a bit longer

Don't worry too much - mine had never been left with anyone other than me and DH as no grandparents or extended family so I was worried about leaving her at nursery but she settled very quickly.

Watch out for using nursery as a back up though. I thought that would be fantastic if I was ill on one of my non-working days for instance, and sometimes it's worked out ok but other times they haven't had any spare space. It has worked out better if I've been able to book in advance (eg I travelled to visit my Mum in hospital on the other side of the country so was able to ask nursery for extra days once I knew the operation date).

Good luck!
