Changing room = tiredness

My DD moved up from the 0-2 year old room to the 2-3 year old 6 weeks ago. It is a small relaxed nursery and she was very ready to move up. She is missing her key worker although she still sees her due to the relaxed/free follow of the nursery and they started slow transition after Christmas. She also moved up with her friends and has the same amount of sleep at nursery as before.

But she seems much more tired. Is this normal?

Children often go through periods of needing more sleep especially when they are learning more. Sleep is a consolidation time to think through everything that has happened and process it if more is happening they need more sleep.
recommended sleep for this age is 11 to 14 hours a day more is not unusual with some sleeping up to 16 hours. Some can manage on 9.

Thank you. I k ow all this but for some reason I did not apply it to my own child.

We have moved bed time a little earlier and she is back to getting back to her normal self. She is not a morning person.

My DS is 2.5 and is gradually moving up to the pre preschool room where they go up to 3.5 and he is the youngest. He’s been so tired since moving, thibk he’s doing and learning more to keep up with the others and his brain is a bit frazzled at the end of the day. He is loving it though.
