I earn just under this however I may get a discretionary bonus at the end of the year which would put me over this amount .
Does anyone know what the repucussions would be ? As a single parent I am desperate for this as I'm currently making a loss going back to work , I'm not sure for how many years I can keep this up!

How old is your child?

BitchPeas · 05/06/2018 17:01

If your DC is over 3 you will get it regardless. All children get it from the school term after their 3rd birthday until they start school.

He's actually just 16 months so I still have to wait til next April anyway !
I'm just think waiting til his three and I will be broke by then ! Using my savings currently to cover the shortfalls. Mostly due to the commute , however I'm training as an underwriter and won't find this posistion or flexibility elsewhere . So I'm kinda between a rock and a hard place !

the 15 hours if free for every child over 3.

It's the 30 funded hours that are means-tested. www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/

Maybe you are referring to FEET (Free Early Education for Two year olds). If claiming Child Tax Credit or Working Tax Credit (not Universal Credit) then the financial cap is £16,190 gross income. My local authority (Surrey) says that once you have been assessed and granted FEED funding, if your income changes you still continue to get the funding. So if you get a bonus before April 2019 then I don't think you would qualify as you would exceed the financial cap, from what you are saying.

I would refer to information published by your local authority.
I would also look at other funding schemes to see if you could use those, such as Employer Supported Childcare (childcare vouchers), Tax-Free Childcare. The childcare choices website lined by Twofishfingers gives some info about the other schemes.

Hi there thank you for your responses.
I have looked at the other help but from my understanding tax credits are to be used alone if under their £180 or so threshold a week. Which my son is.

Apply for the 2 year funding because it you are eligible then you get it till they are 3 and changes in circumstances don't count
