Unsure of what to do for the best

I am back at work in the next few months (DS 9months) however my first choice of nursery has no places until late in the year. The only other one I would consider has space but I am still unsure on it, it is a small room for 9 babies and I just didn't get the same feeling as I did on the first. There is no option on when I go back to work, we cannot afford for me to have any more time off

I feel I have 3 choices and so unsure of what to do for the best.

1. Start in second choice nursery and then move him after 3 months to the first choice.
2. Keep him in the second choice nursery for the foreseeable future.
3. Go to a childminder for the first 3 months and then start at the first choice nursery?

I know the most logical is number 2 but I just can't shake the feeling of it not the right nursery for him.

Would childminder for foreseeable be an option?

I would prefer a nursery long term as I cannot arrange last minute care if the childminder was sick and I couldn't take the day off work at short notice. With a nursery they have more staff to cover sickness etc.

Go for option 2, you can always move him at a later date but don't have to if it's working out. Keep ringing nursery 1 as you may well find that space becomes available as people's plans change.

Option 2 for consistency then. Can re-evaluate it later to see if a move is needed. Nurseries are as good as their management and staff, which changes, so you may find that you like the place better in a few months time.

I know option 2 is the best way to go. Hopefully my doubts about it will fade as he settles in (fingers crossed).
Like you both said, I can always evaluate at a later date.
