son not potty trained is starting nursery soon but i forgot to ask them about this?

my son is nearly 2 and not potty trained i havent even started to try to do that yet i dont think he understands he dosent seem aware of when hes doing a wee even , will the nursery staff change his nappy? i registered him at one he gets free hours i registered him back in august and forgot to say hes not potty trained, they didnt ask me an i didnt even really think about it at the time he is meant to start in january , he cant really talk much yet either he is a slow developer , do they change nappies of toddlers???

Yes, both nurseries my dad has attended have changed nappies. It should be fine but give them a call to check.

Yes they will change him don't worry. Very few children are potty changed before the age of two.

thanks very much i just worry as i understood they must change nappies of babies but toddlers who will kick about and not always make it easy to change their nappy i was not sure about that , i just hope he gets on ok at nursery and sorta feel bad for sending him in a way when he cant yet talk put i suppose i can take him out if hes not happy there or the staff say hes not ok there

Don't feel bad for sending him, being at nursery will help with his speech and he will have a great time playing with the other children. My ds has just turned two and the nursery staff sing with him whilst changing him as he can make a fuss.

I work in a school nursery in the two year olds room. All children attend 3 hours per day either morning or afternoon. We have a nappy changing room as most of the two year olds are still in nappies. We support toileting as they get a bit older and most are not in nappies before moving up to our 3/4 year olds rooms.
