Any nursery staff out there - what do you like for presents??

DD1 (14 months) started nursery this October and the staff have been lovely. I'd like to get the staff in her room Christmas presents to say thanks. But... there are 5 staff - do I just get her key worker something? Or do I get them all something to share? Or separate presents? And, any nursery staff out there - what's a nice present to receive?

We usually get a token gift from companions (what we call key-children) and a room gift but tbh we get so much sometimes it ends up as raffle prizes Blush

Everything is appreciated and we love that parents are thinking of us but there's only so many boxes of Celebrations/hand creams and keyrings you can use but we do love getting little personal gifts like a handmade calander for the staff room or even just a little handmade card but really don't stress :)

We often get big boxes of chocolates and we make sure that everyone gets the same amount of pressures
I do appreciate a gift that is wrapped and given to me personally, whatever it is
My favourite is the bottle of wine Grin

If you buy something like a box of chocolates for the room, these will normally be raffled for all the staff.

I would personally do 5 individual little gifts, wrapped and personalised for each member of staff in the room

An amazon voucher is the best thing in my opinion, as you can get literally anything from there.

thanks so much - wine and amazon vouchers great ideas!

Cars are always welcome. And chocolates/food/wine.

Where I've worked, the chocolate boxes were collected together then raffled off between staff to take home for xmas, biscuits and odd chocolate boxes went to the staff room. Otherwise there would have been a huge mountain of goodies which would have been eaten by the fatter hungrier members of staff.

Anything that showed you thought of them is going to make the staff very happy.

A plant!
Definitely not a key ring!

In my experience individual names and wrapped little pressies are appreciated eg cosmetic gifts, lip glosses, nail varnishes etc. Loads on offer at this time of year too!

A card saying how much you appreciate them is always my favourite, all to often parents drop and run on a morning and are in a bit of hurry to collect and run on an evening, a card actually saying how appreciated they are go much further in my opinion, they can be kept and put up longer than a box of chocolates last... Especially in my nursery!! But that's just personal opinion... Smile

Standard protocol is a special gift for key person, as others have said, gift vouchers, bath sets, personalised Xmas decoration, and if you want to a room gift of chocolates normally! Rarely have we had each had a gift from a single child, it's normally just to your key person! Smile

In my nursery room gifts have to be handed in to the office to be raffled.
If you want individuals to receive gifts hen it is best to wrap and label a small gift.
