Have I read the Ofsted report too late?

I have just signed up to Tenderlinks Nursery in Streatham for my 11 month old and just came across the Ofsted report which gives me some concern. No health and safety certificates held by any staff, lack of stimulation and activity for babies including hardly any outside play. The daily report suggests he just plays with soft toys and musical instruments... this is his 3rd day and that staff do come across really nice. Any ideas on a subtle approach or am I right to be cautious? Would really appreciate feedback for others who might have considered the nursery or have had similar issues.

How old is the report?

March 2006... hmmm - what do you think?

I drive past this one a lot and had been wondering about it. A lot of the Wandsworth/Lambeth nurseries have had average OFSTED reports recently (well the ones I've looked at!) I suppose you have to decide what's important to you (she says helpfully!) you must have known about the lack of outdoor space before you started but the lack of stimulation would bother me a bit. Has it had any complaints about it? I expect I would take those seriously. Do you like the feel when you drop him off?

Ds's daily reports just said he played in the sandpit for the first six months - that's not all he did by any means, just that he was happiest there and so the staff remembered it.

Soft toys and instruments sounds okay in itself, and it is only day 3. Are the staff even the same as the ones in March...very high turnover in nurseries.

Would your ds play outside every day if he was at home? At 11 months I would have done very minimal outside stuff with ds as he wasn't crawling or walking.

If you read this and you went to Tenderlinks what do you think? If not which Nursery do you use? DD is at a nursery and I just feel she is not happy there. Can't put my finger on it but I am looking around again.

Just seen this. The nursery have to write an action plan to address any shortcomings highlighted by Ofsted, you can ask to see that.
