Hello all.

Wonder if I can get some advice from you? My daughter is 7 months old and I can no longer afford the nanny we have (my ex was contributing half until recently).

Therefore I need an alternative. I run a business so have some flexibility but not much and ultimately I need 4-5 days a week help.

I don't like the idea of a childminder (I am not sure why and perhaps I need to rethink this?!).

Would you consider sending your daughter to a nursery at such a young age? And if so, what's the best way to find one in the W12 area? How do I start?

Do let me know! Thanks so much in advance. If I can help in return, I will!

Hello there

Well I have found a couple I like:

I think it's a difficult choice - child minder vs nursery for babies. I somehow think that there is more safety in numbers, even if the individual attention might be less in a nursery…

I'm a single-mum-to-be (August) so have been looking into all options.

You can go and visit the nurseries and get a vibe. I think you can tell pretty quickly.

From chatting with mum friends, the one thing to find out is how much nap time they have… sometimes they are just put on a gym mat and don't sleep so come home exhausted. Or it could be the other extreme, you end up paying for your baby to nap for hours!
