My lo had an accident at nursery, from how it was described to me and how the teacher herself said she got very scared, I think it could have potentially ended up much worse than it has an we were lucky little one wasn't badly hurt after all. I love the nursery and think they do a great job at taking care of my lo but I guess my concern is that this accident might have happened because they didn't have enough staff in the room. One of the teachers recently left and as far as I know has not been replaced yet, a couple of times at drop off I noticed there were more children than the teachers in the room would have allowed. I didn't think much of it as I know they have "extra" teachers moving around rooms as they need, and thought it was the start of the day and more stuff will be coming soon. Then today we had this accident and injury form and I'm wondering if maybe it happened in a moment where they were stretched? I know my lo is super active and it could have been that there were 10 teachers around and he still did it, but I'm thinking should I ask if it was because they are stretched and not enough staff? Last thing I want to do is raise a bit fuss, firstly cause my lo was ok in the end and secondly cause I'm happy with the childcare they provide. But I'm wondering what if it was a worse outcome or it happens again to another child? What would you do?
