does anyone bring their kids to nurseries near workplace in London?

My DH thinks that I am crazy and thinks that it is nearly impossible to manage taking DS with pram during the rush hours in London tubes. I was just wondering whether it is possible, and if so, how to manage the packed trains during the rush hours? thank you very much.
P.S. I am considering this because we are in the process of buying a house and moving, but not sure where yet but definitely will do in the next three/four months, so I couldn't register DS with the local nursery. So I was thinking that it might be a good solution to find a nursery near workplace.

It depends on length of commute but no, I wouldn't recommend this at all. I don't work in London btw, but I get a lift with my DH to work for an hour each way and we looked into getting a nursery close to the office versus home as it meant DD would be in childcare for a shorter day.

However, we decided on close to home and I am so glad. It would have been immensely stressful doing a 2 hour car journey every day with DD (TBH the 10 minute drive we do have with her each way is bad enough sometimes!). And that's in the comfort of our car. The stress of commuters, buggies on public transport, trying to entertain your DC when they are tired, grumpy, hungry, etc in front of strangers... no thanks!

Put DC in your local nursery now and when you know when you are moving, register them with a local nursery in the new area. It's not ideal changing nurseries after such little time (I assume you are still on mat leave?) but preferable in this situation.

Thank you FantasticMax. That's very useful. I guess it doesn't sound like a feasible solution as I will have to travel 1hr from office to home. Previously I was painting a more fun picture of chatting with DS about his day in nursery on the way back home. But I guess the reality is quite different. The problem is that all the local nurseries (the good ones) have quite long waiting lists, and there is no point to register with them now since we are expected to move soon. I guess maybe the only solution is to find childminders or nannies. But thank you for sharing your experience.
