my DD goes to Nursery once a week but only for one hour and once a month she goes in for 2 hours (of what i can afford)

This nursery is where my DD will be in full time once ive found a full time job but even though she is only there one hour a week do i expect a feedback regarding of my DDs developement or not till she in full time

She had been going to teh nursery since feb 06

when ds was at nursery we received a feedback sheet every day saying what they had done, eaten etc. (even whether they had dirtied their nappy). the nursery also kept a file on his development and when he reached certain milestones. There were parent's evenings once a year where you could look at the file and talk to the key worker.

Guess it is difficult to give any feedback in reality for a child who is there so little

so i supposed that i will wait till she is in full time

depends on the nursery. dS was only vere in three days a week-but they were able to give quite a bit of info about him.

I think one hour a week is just not enough time to guage very much-you could always ask them what their procedure is

WigWamBam · 09/07/2006 20:08

I wouldn't expect feedback, an hour a week doesn't really give them much to go on. But if you're concerned about a lack of feedback you could always ask them for some.

ok ill ask her key worker tmrw to see whats their procedure is

DD used to go to nursery for only two mornings a week. WE got a full account of her day, every time without fail. Now she's fulltime, we get the same.

No reason you shouldn't get feedback.

DS goes for 5 hours, 4 days a week...we get feedback in his little orange/red book..what he ate, did he eat it all, when he slept and what he played with and a general comment (he's only 11mo so the comments have only just started to include more developmental stuff like mimicking faces and pulling himself up on things...)

hiy biglips, DS goes 2 days per week and they keep a sheet on what he's eaten, slept, activites etc. I find that I get better information by hanging around for a few minutes when I pick him up than anything formal though, just a natter with the staff is usually quite useful.
