My dd is 2.3yo, andi have just moved to a new area, i do take her to toddler groups but have found out there is a local nursery just up the road. I am pg with no2 (due Aug) do you think i should put my dd in the nursery for 1 morn session a week? obviously want to do it before baby no2 is born, but should i wait a few weeks first?

Also is £9 for 3.5 hours reasonable?

Have you visited the nursery? Is it good? I'd say yes. The price seems v reasonable, in fact i'm surprised it's so cheap, my DD's nursery would be about £20 for a v short session like that.

No not been to have a look yet, the woman said i can call in for a information pack, and they have a toddler group on a Thurs aft (think the nursery is just morning sessions) so will go on Thurs and have a nosey! It is the local community centre.

I know there is a busy bee's just up the road too, that is £16.50 per session, are busy bee's any good?

Not sure one session a week would be enough to establish her intitially tbh. Is it a day nursery or a sessional nursery school/preschool ?

LIZS...I think it is a nursery and a pre school from what i understood, they have little ones and older ones.

By the sounds of it it is a sessional one in a local hall so the overheads are very different to a daycare setting - hence the price difference . Think Busy Bees may be a daycare nursery . What age group is the one you are looking at aimed at ?

You need to visit to assess them really, even chains can vary from one setting to another. Have you looked up the relevant Ofsted reports ? \link{http://www.childcarelink.gov.uk/index.asp\This site} may give you the relevant conatct details and alternatives for your area.

Not sure what age group it is aimed at, but i asked about my dd is still in nappies atm, and they said it not a problem that they would support when i nappy trained.

my dd (2.5) has just started playgroup, 5 mornings a week, 2.5 hrs a day. I only pay £15 a week. Try and find out if there's anything similiar near you. Some of them take from 2, some from 2.5. I would definately think about settling her somewhere before the baby is due, to give both of you a break.
I would go for more than one morning if you can. £9 okay, but you may be able to find one cheaper which offers more hours.
