I were going to post this in AIBU but thought I might get better advice here .
My Ds (4) has been attending a Prep school since October as I thought it would be better for him in the long run & it more than likely would of been if the HeadMistress wasn't so useless when it comes to interacting with the Parents , I have sent several letters & rang up numerous times only to be ignored .
The main reason for wanting to do this is financial due to Dh been made redundant but the school just won't acknowledge my request .
Another part of there incompetence is I ordered his uniform the week before he started & have still not received any of it & when I enquire I get told to be patient Hmm
I would be patient but the uniform has cost me £160 & I haven't received any of it .
What is the best way to tackle this with the school ad I am tempted to just not send my Ds back on Monday as no matter how hard I try they just won't talk to me
Sorry for the rambling

Not sure what advice you are after. You haven't explained what your grievance is.
Is it the wait for the uniform? I doubt they keep very large stocks of it and have possibly ordered from the supplier.
What have you said in your letters?

cassell · 05/01/2013 16:57

Well it's highly unlikely that they will offer any bursaries/scholarships for Pre-prep if that's what you're after. If you want to give notice as you can't afford it anymore then you usually need to do that at least a term in advance so if you don't give notice before this terms starts you will be liable for this term & next terms fees. If you want to pay by installments then you need to speak to the bursary/fees office, the headmistress wouldn't usually deal with that. Not sure what advice you're after Confused

My grievance is that no matter how many times I have contacted them in regards to reducing hours & fees I am just been ignored , I'm not wanting to remove my son but if they are refusing to speak to me then I'm not sure what else I can do

Have you not knocked on the office and spoke to staff face to face?

From what I understand (working in a nursery) anything in writing has to be responded to and dealt with back in writing.

Kashdogg82 · 05/01/2013 18:50

name changed
There is no just a room at the top of the house which never seems to be used & the secretary doesn't start until 2pm so can't get hold of anybody before then & when I do get through they're to busy

cassell · 05/01/2013 18:53

Well i'd be annoyed as well if they didn't respond but I'm still confused. is it a nursery or is it a prep school? You say your ds is 4 and at prep and needs uniform which indicates he's at school so you couldn't reduce hours Confused if it's just a nursery then the admin side is often a bit rubbish so face to face works better.

InNeedOfBrandy · 05/01/2013 18:54

How strange, I wouldn't feel comfortable sending my dc to a place that doesn't communicate with me or bother to reply.

If I was you I'd go there and refuse to leave until someone speaks to you about this or an appointment is made. Or I'd change nurserys as it sounds a shit one.

Kashdogg82 · 05/01/2013 21:40

It's a prep school from age 3-11 .
I'm gonna try & speak to somebody Monday
