Gifts for nursery staff

We're moving soon and as a result the DC will be starting at a new nursery. We've been very happy with their current nursery so it is a bit of a wrench to leave. I was thinking of getting their key carers and key staff small goodbye gifts to say thank you when we leave. Would be grateful for any ideas!

Vouchers? High Street or iTunes if they are aged 16-30 like DD's!

Nice pens always go down well (pens are like gold dust in nurseries)
If you wrap individual little gifts in named packages it means a lot more than a big joint gift, especially to part timers who often get last pick of a joint present .
Lip balm or small nice chocolate is good too.

I agree with inmysparetime, small individually wrapped presents for everyone will be better received than one big tin of chocolates or biscuits.
It dosn't have to be expensive, hand cream, pens, lip gloss, luxury choccies, sweeties, anything really. Just make sure you remember everyone and label them with their names.

Oh no, please don't give pens Hmm pens may be like gold dust, but personally at my nursery we have a hundred and one biro's floating around. It will just get lost like the rest of them. Also "thanks for looking after my child, he have a pen" seriously its the worst gift ever.

I recently received a handbag from a very lovely parent, although this i know is an extreme present and would never expect it, but she took time and thought about the gift instead of just buying any old tat.

I think the easiest thing to (cheaply) get is either really nice hand cream (cause we all have really dry hands from all the washing) or (more expensive) a voucher from one of the high street stores.

Thanks very much for all the suggestions!

I just had an idea actually - a photo mug with the DTs photo on it and a 'thank you for everything' message? Surely they always need mugs for tea breaks etc so practical gift, not too expensive, personal, and quite cute? I was thinking of filling them with nice chocs (or maybe a nice hand cream!) and wrapping in cellophane or something so looks like have made a bit of effort as well. Nice or naff?

On the other hand they may secrectly think the DTs are little horrors and not want to look at their photo every day :)

Good idea, but get a porcelain pen and write the staff names on each mug to avoid arguments over who owned the first chipped one.
