Hi
I am a working mum , who has always had her child in full time day nursery. now that i am on maternity leave i reduced my child's hours to the free 15 hrs I am entitled to. in december 2011 i was told that i couldspread the 15 hours over 3 days to give me a longer break during the day rahter then 5 days of 3 hours each.
the nursery has now changed management, and i am now told that goverment legislation is changed and i can not be flexible anymore. i have to send her for 3 hours each over 5 days.

i can not find anything to confirm this. does anyone know about this? Is nit correct or am i right in thinking that the new management are just changing things?

please advise.anyone????

Hi I'm a nursery owner/manager and I havn't heard this, the code of practice providers offering the entitlement is here

media.education.gov.uk/assets/files/doc/c/cl%20-%20co/code%20of%20practice%20for%20las%20on%20delivery%20of%20free%20early%20years%20provision%20for%20three%20%20and%20four%20year%20olds.doc

Have you tried contacting your local families information service? they will be able to advise you. Or as you say it may be that new management have decided to offer sessions only.

Government legislation hasn't changed.

Thanks. I spoke to the new owner. She still claims change in funding rules but has agreed for my child to attend by sessions. 2 sessions for two days and one session on 3rd day. It allows her space to take on other kids which I guess is reasonable as I was using one and half sessions over 3 days. and she couldn't have other children for the remainder of the time.
