Hi there,
I'm thinking of sending my 9 month old to KU in Wandsworth, does anyone have experience of KU or heard anything about it?

Search the nursery for Kids unlimited and you might get lucky.

My DH works for KU and my DD will be going there in a couple of months, a different branch. Each age group has their own room, in each room you have the correct ratio of staff to child. Each child will have their own key worker and each key worker will have say 3 children. Before your child starts you fill in a booklet about your child, e.g. how to get them to sleep, when they eat, what makes them calm down etc, basically the things you would want to know if you were looking after someones child. There is also a 'spare' person in the room each day who is like a floater and can help if a keyworker suddenly has 3 children who all need immediate attention. During the course of the day staff complete charts listing every single nappy change (time, what it was like etc) and every single milk feed (how much they take) and I think solids too. It is then copied over into a booklet which is available to parents at the end of every day so they can see what their child has been doing at nursery, it also says a bit about their day. They are obviously OFSTED registered and all staff are CRB checked, which is done again every two years (maybe more) I think. The food is cooked in house by a chef according to a menu which has been analysed by external company to ensure that children are getting the correct amount of nutrients in their day so that they don't flag and are generally full of beans. They have snack at 8am (usually bagels, fruit etc, so breakfast really but they call it snack), lunch at 11am (cooked meal with a pudding) and tea (sandwiches etc) at 3 or 4pm, I can't remember the exact time. You can opt for your child not to have sweet puddings but bear in mind that the food in the sweet puddings has been analysed as part of their daily intake so if they don't have it they would have less energy. I went in about a month or so ago and the staff seem really lovely and professional too, the children all looked like they were having a great time.

However, I don't have any personal experience of what it is actually like. DH says it's a lovely place to work but that's all I have to go on!
