Changing nurseries and settling in

We are moving house shortly and our little boy will be nearly two. As a result of the move, he will need to move to a new nursery. He currently attends nursery 5 days a week. I am dreading settling him into his new nursery. He loves his current nursery and settled very easily (he was only 6 months when he started). I just wondered how people settled their little ones in the past, i.e. was a week enough or did you do short sessions over a two week period?

At our nursery we offer settles spread across a couple of weeks, beginning with an hour with parent, and then extending times and the parents leaving the child. Seeing as your child already attends a nursery, he most likely settle relatively easily at his new one, (although you can't hold me to that) as he is use to being left, and is able to understand that mummy/daddy always comes back. You could prob have just a week of settles, and then start, but if you have the time you might as well take a bit longer. Also you'll need to see what your new nursery offer.

Good luck, i hope your ds enjoys his next adventure. Smile
