Any issues with 2yo attending 2 different nurseries?

Is anyone aware of any potential problems I might have if DS1, who will be 2.6y, attends one nursery for 2 days and another for 1 day?

The reason is - he currently attends nursery 2 days a week. When DS2 was born I immediately booked in DS2 and requested a 3rd day for DS1, on my planned return to work 10 months away. They still don't have space for either of these, 3 months before I return to work, so I have to find alternatives.

DS1 is happy and confident at nursery, has his own little gang, his best friend just left and he has quite happily extended his circle of friends. The 2 nurseries are on the surface quite different - the 1st is your typical toddler room of 20 kids, the 2nd is a very small nursery max 16 in total and all in the same room (with segregated areas but they mostly all mix) - his baby brother will be there and he has 2 friends already attending. I'm not aware of anything particularly different re basic routine or dealing with behaviour.

I actually quite like the idea of him going to both - the 2nd nursery has more availability if I need to book in extra days due to work, and it gives me the opportunity to try it out, so I can make an informed decision as to which nursery to stick with for both DSs once the requested places come up at nursery 1.

The biggest problem I forsee is being exposed to 2 sets of bugs, but DS1 will be there anyway so we will already be the centre of nursery bug interbreeding!

Am I missing anything important? Thanks

My DS went to two different nurseries (although these were more 'school' types rather than full day care as I wasn't working Grin) - both were quite different ie: one was more old fashioned and 'strict' the other was fairly informal - he thrived in both environments and didn't seem to mind the different routines at all. He never picked up any bugs in either - perhaps that's just luck but he never needed a day off at all Smile. I think (most) children are much more reslient that we often believe. Good luck with your choice.

DD did one full day a week at private nursery from 14 months. From 2 and 9 months she did 2,3,4 mornings, increasing as she got older, at preschool.
Never bothered her, she also went to swimming, music group and toddlers over the years so was used to different groups.
The nurseries were very different, Pre school is tiny with limited out door space.
The nursery had 3 big rooms, large yards and a field.
She is a very sociable soul she knew everyones names and made friends at both no trouble.
Plenty of children are looked after by different caters during the week, they don't seem to mind so long as those caters are kind and reliable.
