Christmas present for staff

I have no idea what to get the staff at 16 month old ds nursery. He goes 3 days a week. It's a small place and there's 6 staff and no key worker system. I wondered about giving them money towards their staff meal out - management aren't paying this year. And make a Christmas card with ds for all of them.

What do you think?

Last year ds was 2 and at playgroup, for christmas and when he left to move up to nursery we got them chocolates. I will admit they were rather unimpressed Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin
Money for their meal out sounds nice and helpful.
Def to the card. This year ds has made his teachers a snowman card and we are thinking of a present but getting nowhere.

Magazine subscription for the staff room?

We love it when parents give the nursery something, say your child's fav book or car toy! When a parent last year pre paid for 4 bottles of wine for our staff do we all thought they were just so thoughtful and a bit more effort than handing over money to manager. Saying that 80% of parents give nothing so everything is a huge bonus!!

A contribution towards the Christmas meal bill would be greatly appreciated.

A parent at ours used to buy a big box of "Lush" goodies to share out so we all got a lovely little something, the office used to smell heavenly!

If you can get a little something personal for each staff member it is better than one big gift (which is often consumed mostly by the same few staff members).
Pens, moisturising handwash and lip balms are especially useful for nursery workers IME, due to the amount of writing, hand washing and outdoor play we do.
Mugs are usually welcome, and things your child has had a hand in making are most memorable.

Thanks! Lots of good ideas that will keep me going for the next couple of years
