Hello fellow mummies, I am currently studying at the moment whilst my daughter is in the care of her father, though as our circumstances have changed and we will both be starting full time work within the next few months im looking for views on which type of childcare is best. Ive looked around and got my own views though feel the need to ask those of you already using these services............how do you choose?
I would be greatful of any help out there or just general comments.
Thank you a very indecisive mummy :)

Hi, first question, how old is your daughter?

I think it depends a lot on the individual child, and the childcare provider!

My DD (2.7) has always been a very sociable and independent little girl, and very active. We went for a nursery because we thought she would thrive with plenty of different things going on, and lots of people to make friends with.

Other considerations were the fact that we wouldn't have to worry about a childminder being ill, and the nursery we found was cheaper than a childminder. Personally I also felt happier about having several staff in the room because then if one person is having a really bad day it wouldn't affect the child as much IYKWIM. (Disclaimer: I do know that most childminders are very professional and caring people, this was just something I felt).

I would be more likely to choose a childminder for a baby under 1, or a more shy/timid toddler.
