Lunch and snacks at nursery - ideas needed please!

Hello Smile

My son is starting settling in at nursery soon and we'll be providing his lunch and snacks while he's there (4 full days a week).

He'll be 12 months by the time he's there for 4 full days a week. He's BLW, so eats pretty much anything...but we've been in a bit of a lunch rut recently Blush. And I'm now feeling at a total dead end about what to pack in his lunch bag.

What do you pack for your babies/toddlers? I desperately need ideas!

TIA

We have to do lunches - I alternate between pasta (tomato/cheese sauce) and sandwiches.

I figure she gets a variety of meals at home, and I know she will eat pasta or sandwiches! She also gets a piece of fruit, yoghurt/fruit pot and a biscuit.

I think that you are falling into the trap of thinking that you need to give your son an annabel karmelesque meal planner of something vastly different every dayA variety of sandwiches/rolls/wraps, leftovers from the night before and the usual lunchbox stuff like a boiled egg/piece of cheese/raw veg/oatcakes/yoghurts etc will be more than fine.

As for snacks - well, what do you give him now? Ricecakes, fruit. veg, dried fruit, the odd bit of cake? That will be fine too.

Thanks ladies.

ProvincialLady you're right, I am thinking he needs some sort of Annabel Karmelesque menu (ironic, as I've not actually read any Annabel Karmel). Must be because it won't be me having lunch with him and I don't want the nursery staff to think "god, does he only eat cheese quesadillas or what?"...

He does eat a wide variety of different meals at home, so I think I'll take your view ladyoftheday and just stick with what I know he'll eat.

I wouldn't worry about what the nursery staff think - ours always seem so impressed at what a 'good eater' DD is - rather than the predictability of her lunch!! I think as long as she is eating, its all good :)
