upset tummy

Bit of a dillema here. DS (16 mnths) has had a bit of an upset tummy for the last 4/5 days resulting in bad runny/pongy nappies 3 or so times a day . He seems OK in himself though. Do we send him into nursery tomorrow or not? I guess it's not fair on the other kids but it's a tough one as he doesn't seem ill apart from the nappies and I guess he picked the bug up there in the 1st place. I'd be interested to here what people think.

No you dont send the child because it could go around the whole nursery. If the nursery see the poos or know about him having it they wont be happy and would send him home.

They shoudl have a policy for runny tums normal rules are must be completely clear for eith 36 or 48 hr.

had the same dilema myself about when i could send him in, but I get annoyed when he comes down with something than another child has and should be at home with. I usually end up catching it and have to be off work! its not just the children - my boss in NHS sent me home with conjunctavitis last week, and nursery said that they had a few kids with it.

LexB, we've all been there and a PITA it is, however, pity the poor nursery staff who may have to deal with a whole group who have runny pongy poos - must be a nightmare. The cycle has to be broken.

Keep him off, I say.
