Nursery staff/childminders - what would you actually LIKE to receive for Xmas?

That I can afford, obviously!

I have previously contributed to the Christmas party, but nursery aren't having one this year. Last year I also bought a little thing of Lush products for the staff, but it was quite wee, something for each member.

Am happy to buy a big box of chocolates, but do you all just think "Not more chocolates!?"

TIA

Hi I work in a nursery and we love getting chocolates! But if you wanted to get something different how about a Starbucks gift card or a gift card for the local cinema?

dribbleface · 16/12/2010 11:47

oh starbucks gift card or something would be great. We have a coffee shop opposite the nursery that does a cake and coffee voucher

Chocolates are good for me. Good ones anyway. Roses and quality are a bit of a rather dull chore to munch through. Hand cream is nice due to staff washing their hands 20 times a day. Diamonds never go out of fashion.

Nice chocolates or biscuits are always good, but as someone as said you do get a bit bored of 40 boxes of roses etc lol

If you are just buying a group gift, then body shop do a lovely set, which has a hand wash and a hand cream, both in the pump action and in a little basket thing so they sit nicely on the side of a sink in the room.

I work at M&S, I buy one present and they put them all in a raffle, and carry on until they have all gone! Brill idea!

So I've got a nice gift bag, put one of the nice M&S copy perfumes in and some percy pigs, hope they like it ! Grin

I usually buy a big box of chocolates from Thorntons for all the nursery staff and for DS1's keyworker last year, I gave her a £10 Next gift card. This year, I got LUSH products for both my DCs' keyworkers. I think it's the thought that counts; as long as you try and not just buy one of those toiletries sets from Boots. I have a friend who is a TA and she gets dozens of them every year and hates them with a passion! Grin

I am grateful for anything that I get but my favourites are something that is an individual present wrapped and given to me, as oppossed to a big box of chocolates or biscuits that is given to the whole staff. Doesn't even have to be a brilliant gift but just that recognition and appreciation is enoough.

StealthPolarBear · 18/12/2010 08:29

darnit they were hvaing their christmas party last night why didn't I just give money and ask them to by each a drink?
oH well got chocs now - small box for all staff and bigger box for key workers

nurseryvoice · 18/12/2010 09:34

anything is appreciated, the staff usually get given boxes of chocs or biscuits then share them out at the end. (people never get me anything though):( (im the manager)

GingerbreadGiraffe · 18/12/2010 19:13

great posts here.
I've got some thortons chocs for the girls running DDs room. And then I will give a differnt box of choc to kitchen staff. They are doing a hard job and I want to ensure they are appreciated!

missorinoco · 19/12/2010 12:12

i've bought dds keyworker a voucher for white stuff but that's for christmas and a thank you as dd moves up a room in the new year and her keyworker has been truly wonderful, dd adores her she eats far more for her than for me and is such a happy little girl at nursery so I wanted keyworker to feel appreciated
