Can anyone recommend a good nursery in this area of London that is a reasonable price?

Nadene are you looking for daycare or a pre-school? If latter highly recommend Vanessa Nursery School (where you will meet my delightful DS!!) but if daycare we used Little People on Haydn Park Road and were very happy with it at the time but 5 years ago - things might have changed, daycare I think depends massively on the quality of the current manager.

Heard some horror stories about Happy Times in Ravenscourt Park - but again someone might be along in a minute with more up to date info. Good luck!

I currently use Happy Times and I'm pretty happy with it, it's not as flashy as some of the other nurseries but it's very friendly, staff-turnover is pretty low and it has a great garden! The management changed about 18 months ago - maybe the previous poster's stories were pre the change? - I'd love to know!
If you are looking for pre-school nursery not daycare then I have friends whose children go to Stepping Stones in Cobbold Road and love it, it's run by ex-primary school teacher.

Hello there Mildew, yes I am probably a little out of date, my DD was in daycare when she was 6m to about 2.5. Happy Times were known to be a bit large and impersonal in those days not helped by high staff turnover - glad they have apparently mended their ways.

Agree about stepping stones btw - and they take children slightly earlier than the state nursery schools which can be a boon!
