I'm after advice please. I need to get some waterproofs for my ds (coming up to 2 yrs).

He goes to nursery 2 days a week so I need something he can wear there and wear at home. I was originally thinking of a splashsuit/all in one thingy (mostly for nursery) and dungareees/trousers & jacket (mostly for home) from somewhere like togz.

Anyway, now I have come to order I am wondering - 1) does he need both (if not, which do I get)? and 2) are togz totally waterproof? He currently has a slashsuit thingy (cheap make) but his clothes are always soaking underneath. Kind of defeats the object!

Any views? And do I buy the lined ones or not?

An all in one thing is quite hard to get in and out of. At home it only takes a couple of minutes to help, but at nursery with 20+ children they can be a nightmare. Go for separates.
A lot of waterproof clothing gets wet inside due to sweat rather than rain. It's the reason why companies make breathable clothing. The sweaty water vapour is allow out through the fabric.

Thanks for that. I thought all in one's were easier for nursery! I am glad I asked now :)

I like the bib and braces with a jacket from muddy puddles. They are totally waterproof.

Try ebay - I got muddy puddles stuff there second hand in great condition.

Personally if your child attended my nursery and wasn't potty training, or trained i would have no issue with the all in one, plus he would more likely to stay drier as there is no gaps, for water to get in, however Tiggy does have a very god point and many other nurseries prob would prefer a two piece outfit. Why don't you ask what the nursery prefer, and i would ask the room leader not the manager.

New year and Christmas holidays are coming and my all children are not going to stay at home. Weather forecast is also not good. I must have to visit some kids waterproof clothing shops. Is there are any recommendation . Thanks

I bought regatta splosh waterproof all in one suit for my 18months dd today from ebay for £20 rrp £40. Looks good but have not tried it outside yet. Only need it for the nursery next month. Take a look at their website for product details. The size is a bit too big for my petite dd, the 18-24(84-92cm), so I need to order smaller size I.e. 12-18.

I buy stuff for DS on raindrops.co.uk but usually in sales as it's quite pricey. Get asked a lot about it and one mother said she saw something similar in H&M. In Scandinavia children spend most of their time outside so anything Scandinavian is good. It might get wet because of sweat so usually you need to have under it a high performing fleece rather than cotton tee because it should keep you DC dry.
