reusable wipes for nursery?

dd will start nursery in a few weeks. unfortunately she gets nappy rash every time we use baby wipes so at home we use cotton wool and water or camomile tea.
they have a "wipes only" policy, so I wonder if it would be OK to give them reusables in a box or ziploc bag for the day.
any experience with that?

Why do they have a wipes only policy?

Seems strange to me (i have worked in nurserys for 15 years first i have heard of this)

I often use cotton wool and water on children with sore bottoms or allergies to wipes.

Same as websticks.....

They have a wipes only policy? Doesn't seem much like they are treating each child as an individual. In my time a a nursery nurse often use cotton wool like websticks/nursery voice. Used to have to wash one little boy in olive oil soap, and he had the softest skin, bless him.

Have a chat with nursery manager to see if this is right, where did you get this information?

in my experience of working in nurseries it is quite normal 2 use cotton wool and water, we were taught never to use wipes if child had nappy rash

I'd be wondering about that nursery. Their priority should be meeting children's needs. Your DD needs cotton wool and water so that's what they should be using.

They should be willing to use disp wipes if you provide them but I'd be asking myself a few questions about the ethos of a nursery who refuse to use cotton wool and water. Will there be other times they are inflexible to meeting a child's needs as well?

I*m just back from dropping ds off.
the wipes only policy came from one of the workers in the baby room but I was able to talk to the worker who will be her key worker. she said that they prefer wipes because its easier but reusables are fine as well. if they are a problem they can also use cotton wool and water which they do if babys bottom is sore.
very relieved now.
so I will start doing reusables now to see if they suit dd.

That sounds much more reasonable.
