EE stating that MSE and Uswitch deals are not valid

Title says it all really. Yesterday , I contacted EE for broadband as current supplier is useless and EE quoted a price that is £10 per month dearer than MSE and Uswitch prices with no voucher available. When I queried it, EE said those deals aren’t available when you click through. I took their word for it and accepted their deal as I was stressed but does anyone know if this is true? Thanks

Its best not to accept a deal based on a phone call, I'd want to see the numbers in writing to make sure I understood what I was getting. But you probably have a 14 day cooling off period, which should be detailed in the letter/email they send you, so you could use that to cancel.

But if there's a deal on MSE/Switch then it's very likely it does exist and is valid because they're both reputable, consumer focused platforms. I always switch my broadband through MSE and always get the stated price and associated voucher. But obviously it's in the interest of EE to have you paying more than the minimum.

I've had a similar issue this week.
Spent an hour talking to EE on the phone, couldn't understand why I could find several deals lower than the ones I was being sold on the phone.
Didn't really help they were constantly trying to upsell me, I called for broadband and they tried to sell me anything else with it.

But when I did try and sign up for a deal I found online it took me to the EE website where I could only get the prices I'd been given on the phone - I went through an approved website too.

So I ditched EE and signed up with someone else through the MSE website, and I'm glad. I find EE extremely expensive now, I've been with them 15 years and they don't give you a loyalty discount anymore unless you buy something else (so upgrade my phone AND buy broadband for example).

If EE are no good, there's always Sky, Vodafone, Plusnet, BT etc.

Thanks all for your replies - I’m going to cancel EE tomorrow - I tried today but they said it wasn’t possible until Monday. 😞
@OneBiccieTwoBiccie You’re right, previously, I was with them for years and no loyalty discount at all.

worked in a call center sales team many moons ago - they are highly targets to convert you into a sale (or multiple) and only have certain offers available. They can't price match third parties like that so will just tell you they can't verify them. They aren't privy to what's available elsewhere and probably spend a lot of their day complaining about Martin Lewis

Update: I cancelled the EE contract offered to me on the phone - they refused to match the MSE offer, so I then went back to EE via a consumer website for £13 per month less plus a voucher.
I find it outrageous that they can do this - I thought that current customers were supposed to pay the same as new customers? Some of my older friends are terrified of switching any utilities and are paying over the odds.
