Any tips on how to increase the value of my property?

Just washed all my radiators, and sanded down the grimy plug sockets that were covered in old paint and plaster.

I have 2 weeks to increase the value of my home before the pics get taken to go on the market.

I'm about to buy a few hanging plants.

What else can I do to increase the value?

We might need to know more about your house. You can certainly clean things to make it more saleable, not sure that 'adds value' so much though.

Clean the windows inside and out. Get rid of nasty smells by scrubbing bins / toilets and unblocking drains. Weed and sweep paths and patios. Wipe down kitchen cupboards and appliances so no sticky finger prints. Get rid of clutter. Clean skirtings. Dust. Get rid of cobwebs.

it's actually a small two bed flat, I would say its middle range in terms of finish. The sort of flat that a graduate couple would rent. I currently live in it. It's unpolished and plain but livable and nicer than a student flat

Don't have too many personal photos about. Personal collections. Decluter. Try and put things away rather than on the kitchen counters. Not too much stuff in the bathroom out on show. You want to make it look as spacious as possible. Is there blinds or curtains. Get as much light in as you can.

I'm going to move all my stuff into my DP cupboard for the 3 weeks of photos and viewings.

I have ugly shelves in the living room I need to fill with stuff. Is boardgames ok for this? Or would books be better?

Why are they ugly. Books would be better.

I always think new switch covers give the place a lift. Bit random. Pots of flowers. Polish the taps and door handles. Dust the light fittings. Straighten the curtains and blinds.

Increase its value ? Probably nothing

help it achieve its full potential, increase the chance of a sale?

clean, tidy, fresh smell - not chemicals or pets. Clutter free. Make it feel roomy.

You won’t be able to make a huge difference but make sure any scuff marks on paint are covered up, everything is neat and tidy, uncluttered
bins emptied
set a table if you have one and stage rooms - ie if you sue a room as a study then set a laptop up
People need help to visualise then space
Kerb appeal - lighting, clean mat, hanging baskets - all nice

Replace the energy saving bulbs with the brightest you can find. Rearrange furniture to maximise perception of space.
