Wymondham has a nice Waitrose, lots of shops and a garden centre. Nice place to live.

Swaffham is the only place in West Norfolk with a Waitrose. Nice small town.

LlynTegid · 08/08/2026 15:52

Perhaps think about Cromer?

MrsKeats · 08/08/2026 16:08

Holt is lovely but it only has a Budgens.

You will do a lot of driving in Norfolk. Have you spent any serious time there ?

Yep this is so true. Unless you live in central Norwich almost everything is a drive - we live in a town in South Norfolk and a hospital appointment is a 60 mile round trip.

Hi all I don’t mind driving but don’t want to have to drive just to get something small like milk, just didn’t want to drive every time I need something small. I have been there a lot and want to get away from the hustle and bustle of London.

I think there’s a big gap between London and rural Norfolk

EvangelicalAboutButteredToast · 08/08/2026 21:21

Thetford 😎

I have been looking at wymondham and I do like wroxham but not sure wroxham has enough in to actually live there.

@Beachbeach I know it’s going to be a big change but that’s what I want.

Holt is popular for a reason and gives good access to the beaches and north Norfolk coast. But it’s definitely a lifestyle choice.

If you’re moving from London, maybe Norwich will feel quiet enough without moving to deepest rural Norfolk? There’s a Waitrose in Eaton. You could move to a village on the outskirts of the city , I like Trowse as a suburb or Caistor St Edmund as a village that’s just outside the city but feels very “country”.

Eaton in Norwich also has an excellent vets.

Eaton was my first thought.

I work in wroxham.
It's a very 'old rich retirees' area

It has Roy’s. What more can you possibly want? 😂

Bumbles78 · 08/08/2026 23:02

I live in Eaton. We have a Waitrose, beautiful walks and the river on our doorstep plus only a 30 min walk into the city. Also excellent vets.

Copperoliverbear · 08/08/2026 23:05

@AppleDumplingWithCustard I know even Roy’s McDonald’s 🤣🤣
