Would a Nex fitness game thingy be better than an exercise bike?

I need more exercise. Gym/classes don't work for me but home exercise does (because I can do it before DS gets up).

I've just seen the Nex playground advertised and it has a fitness mode so I think dance or excercise class routine kind of thing.

I have just enough space to put an excercise bike but it would be in the way. Setting up a screen and little box thing would take much less space and might be more fun?

Anyone have experience of this or thinking of it themselves?

I had to look up what the Nex thing was. Seems like it is aimed at kids.

If you can afford a bit more, I would go for a Meta quest 3S. It is a virtual reality headset... and there are loads of apps for for fitness, from free to subscription.

It is worth a look.

Just hide it from your DS 😆

While you’re mulling it over and waiting for more recommendations, my friend did incredibly well just bouncing and jumping and jogging on the spot around her living room, just…..acting like she had ants in her pants!

Thank you! I will give both ideas some thought.

It depends what you want to do - if you just want to get cardio then a bike could work well, but it's important to do strength training as well and it sounds like the bike wouldn't leave you much space for that. There is so much stuff online you can follow with just a mat and body weight, maybe a few resistance bands or weights to get started.

My friend bought a step counter watch for ten pounds and lost 3 stone walking 10,000 steps a day. When it rains she does steps with free step counting videos on YouTube.
