I’m desperate for connection and meeting some nice people, so just looking for ideas and inspiration, may be things that wouldn’t have crossed my mind.

Please share anything and everything you’ve enjoyed signing up for. TIA

The main focuses are on women’s sex-based rights & women in Afghanistan.
There are lots of local groups run by coordinators - there are usually meet-ups, campaigning events, a lot of online chat. My group is going to the pub together next week.

You apply via the website https://www.womensrights.network/ & your local coordinator will get in touch. All women need to be vetted for obvious reasons.

Since getting older and trying to keep fit I joined a bowls club. I walk about 1/2 mile a game without even noticing, the age range in ours is 22 - 92.
but the thing I find most surprising is how unbelievably friendly it is! I have belonged to many clubs in my life but this is without doubt the least ‘cliquey’ - everyone talks to everyone. Now this may be peculiar to our group but I don’t think so as when we play other teams they too are incredibly friendly.
give it a go!

Started doing karate in a lovely family-run dojo. I'm a bit hopeless at it but it's great to feel my strength and flexibility improving and although the ages in my class vary hugely (from about 10 to 50!) everyone is nice and supportive.

@whatsadentistthat sounds really good! Can I ask how much it costs/ if you need special shoes or anything like that? Thanks!

A monthly book group, and a choir. Might be adding a creative writing group, still thinking about that.

Pilates- i have really bad sciatica. I'm late 40's and joined a pilates for beginners and pilates for back care groups at the same studio. The women are amazing, all different ages and interests but all lovely and fun. They even have yearly Christmas party. Plus it is helping my back and i'm getting stronger.

Also, as my son is disabled i've joined our local carers group. They're brilliant and offer a variety of activities from coffee n cake to bee keeping. If you care for someone it's well worth looking into.
