I have always wanted to go to Zanzibar. One day I will.

I also always wanted a camper van. As it happens we got one shortly after I reached a milestone birthday, and it has been life enhancing, come to think.

Funnily enough we’ve just booked Zanzibar for my 60th next year. For other milestone birthdays we’ve done Thailand, Vietnam, Bali and Iceland.

Sorry if this seems like pissing on your parade but why don't you know what you want to do?

For me it would be rafting for a week down the grand canyon. School holidays and heat hasn't allowed me to do this yet plus how expensive and inhospitable the us has become. It's still on the list though. Op you must have some desires- what other people have done isn't necessarily going to be you.

For my 50th we went to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, for DHs we are finally going to Iceland (his birthday was 2020, its taken a while)

@grumpygrape i do have a few wishes but not set on anything yet so im interested in what others have done.
so far:
. girl trip to ibiza (booked)
. Maybe a parachute jump
. maybe brazil as a family holiday
. i might get my ears pierced too!!
. also thinking of proposing to DP! (Been together for 20 years)

im very aware of my body aging though so im thinking what else… like the parachute, i could do that now but not sure id do it for my 60th (although im sure some people do..)

i like the idea about rafting in the grand canyon !

In the year that I was 50, I planned lots of different things to do, with different people.
My favourite thing to do is travel & adventures.

My birthday was before the covid lockdown. Therefore I have lots of amazing memories & photos.

I completed my 50th scuba dive in the canary islands

I visited my friends in Scotland & we spent quality time together & birthday cake.

I went horse riding in Lake District for a few days, galloped along the beaches.

We went to Bali area for a month & did our own tour round.
This included a week, stayed on an island in the Komodo Marine park. A week of scuba diving with manta rays, sharks & incredible life under water. Also visited Komodo island to see the Komodo dragons.
This included a week on Gili T island for more scuba diving & horse riding.
Also dived Tulemban Liberty shipwreck.
Obtained some further diving qualifications.

Went to Bruges & Amsterdam

Some other days out too

It was a very memorable year !

I am hoping that my 60th birthday year will have more holidays & what can top Komodo ?
Perhaps Japan ?
