Hi I’ve just noticed this on my gum when checking my gums it wasn’t there yesterday only appeared since this morning so have no idea what it could be? Does anyone know what it could be I have dentist next week but to stop me panicking over the weekend some reassurance

It could be a sinus from the ? Broken tooth next to it. It could be a graze from a toothbrush? Have you had toothache?

Yes, agree it looks like a sinus. Keep your Dental appointment next week . It’s nothing to worry about but the cause ( ? The broken tooth possibly ) needs to be investigated.

@Blueuggboots no toothache at all I was only at the dentist couple weeks ago I go regularly and never mentioned at all about taking the broken tooth out and that’s been broken since 2023 it broke when I was pregnant with my daughter never once has my dentist said about taking it out so really baffled about that @Souredgrapes i will defiantly keep my apt as I do keep up with my dentist as my teeth was quite bad when I was a teenager so really been trying to keep on top of my dental hygiene the broken tooth hasn’t caused me no issues since when it broke no infections what so ever but I am baffled why the dentist has never offered to remove it X

The broken tooth could well be a red herring . No one really knows what the problem is until it’s examined . The sinus does look like it’s closer to the Lower Right lateral incisor but sinuses can track so who knows ? Due to the pregnancy it is likely the broken tooth wasn’t X Rayed at the time , maybe it has not been X rayed since ? A radiograph ( x ray ) will identify the source of infection if there is one .
