I needed a question answered and Mr Google suggested Mumsnet so I joined earlier this evening.
However, from the post headings I am EXTREMELY confused by all the acronyms being bandied about.
I have managed to figure out AIBU, TTC & MC, but dozens more leave me scratching my head. Things like:- OH, OP, SIL, BIL, DN, LTB, ick, S5 , S6, DH, RCOG, RCM,, RCPCH, MLM, DS13, WFH, HBFs(ylt), C25K, WIP & MSc to name but a few.
WTF people!!!!!!?????
Is there a glossary within the site to explain all these acronyms (and others besides)?
Why the hell use them if people find them confusing? Just write the whole sodding words FFS!!!

Also, when composing my original post earlier this evening, and now this one, underneath are 'smiley hints' + 'Emphasis'. But NOTHING is clickable so how the hell do I use these?????

I also read a post that resonated with me where one person who replied thanked the original poster for before and after photo's.
NOT ONLY could I NOT see these photo's, I can find no way of attaching photo's to a post of mine!
How can I see photo's that have been posted, and should I ever need the facility in the future, how do I attach a photo to a post of mine??
Thanks in advance ............. otherwise I am off 'cos it's all too confusing for this sexagenarian!

I would add that the glossary has CF as cystic fibrosis, but in most threads it means Cheeky Fucker. And you will see threads about this quite a lot Grin

www.mumsnet.com/info/acronyms

Hope this helps although not everything I've seen is in here. You will pick it up soon I'm sure!

Some of these acronyms aren’t even Mumsnet specific, they’re general acronyms or professional medical organisations. Sometimes Google really is your friend.

RCOG - Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists

RCM - Royal College of Midwives

RCPCH - Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health
