Calling all freelance parents...

I'm looking to make freelance parent's lives easier. I'm planning on opening a nursery with co-working space, that focuses on positive mental health development in a flexible setting. I have 10 years of experience working in Early Years and would love the input of parents to understand better what would be most helpful for you. Please get in touch if you live in North London and would be available for a coffee morning (half an hour or so), at a time that works best for the group. Thank you ! Smile

Sorry but I'm not sure it's a great plan. Most freelancers I know (me included) want a private (ish) space to work that does not include their children. A nursery alongside a working space would be my nightmare.

Thanks for your feedback @Cingolimama

The children would be entirely separate from you. The Nursery would function alone. You would have a workspace that didn't have any hint of children! Unless you did have a spare 20 minutes in the day and wanted to visit your child, there would be a communal area.
Would that appeal to you if the combined cost was lower than what you are currently paying for childcare/ office space?

I welcome constructive criticism and feedback!

To be honest, it wouldn't appeal. I need a separate adult space, and a bit of distance (even if it's going out to a garden shed) from family life in order to work. Also, have you considered noise levels?

Sorry not to be more positive, but I see genuine problems. However, others may feel very differently ... so good luck.

Yes of course. The sections are completely separate you would of course not be listening to shouting children all day! Distance but accessibility and flexibility is the key.

Thanks Smile
