HI can someone help me please
Were private renting (tenancy rolling) my LG suffers from hypermobility irritable hip and getting assessed for autism she's delayed in fine and gross motor skills.
Anyways took me a while to get someone to refer her to an occupational therapist (13 concrete stairs she can't always manage) as her hip ort leg can give away randomly but ot said they would write to council about rehousing which they did we was allowed on the list because of the reason and I was told to expand my area to get rehoused I told them I couldn't because my LG is in a special room in a main stream school (doesn't like change) so the pedatrician wrote to them aswell as her doctor me and the school is having a meeting to do a early help assessment so she can be kept within the arearly. I'm just wondering will any of this make the council keep us in the area or is it a waste of time

Depends on where you live. Up here in the north it would be easier but if you’re in the south there simply isn’t enough social housing so yes you may have to expand your area. As far as they would see is special rooms can be set up anywhere and what is more important to you.

I'm down south I know speacial rooms can be set up anywhere But my LG hated change and plucking her away from her school and family it will create unnecessary meltdowns the school has spoken to someone from multiple agency children service and told them she would be veryour concerned if I moved my LG out of school hence were having a meeting for a early help assessment due to above. Doctor and pedatrician are siding with the school on this one just the council and they don't budge for anyone

It's not that the council won't budge, they just don't have any properties that will tick your boxes. You will have to choose what is more important to you, physical needs or change if you're not willing to move further out.

I get it, my youngest is autistic but I'm up north where there's no shortage of SH.

I know what your saying but its definitely the council even occupational therapy said the same. I will if it comes to it have to move out the area
