Tricky access arrangements on holidays

Hi all
My ex is a tricky customer and whilst I have been away on holiday with my two daughters and my fiancée and her disabled son, my ex insists on unlimited access to our daughters (4 and 6) via phone and especially FaceTime. This has often meant a half hour plus FaceTime conversation in the middle of breakfast or dinner with my youngest inoocently showing 'mummy' around every nook and cranny of our holiday home for example or a very loud conversation with my ex frequently taking over the apartment when we were all just sitting down to watch a movie or do and activity together. I would never stop my ex talking to the kids but I feel that there should be some sort of protocol so that our privacy is respected but th girls can still talk to their mum. It really is about her need for control as the girls seldom ask to talk to mum when we're away and it does unsettle them on occasions. What do other people do? What would be considered normal? Any advice would be greatly appreciated xx

Unlimited access is unreasonable. Arrange a time when you will be available for facetime/phone call and stick to it. You can tell the kids not to wander around with the phone, if you think your privacy is bring compromised and ypu can keep conversations to 10 mins, just so she can see the kids are okay.
Given that your dc are small and away from their mum, I don't think it is unreasonable that she wants to speak to them every day tbh, you just have to negotiate a convenient time.

Agree with pp about reasonable times. Also speak to your kids about your boundaries, tell them it's lovely to show people your room , home etc but you don't want to be on camera etc.

Also (and I've had to do this) tell them that if they're eating it's perfectly polite to tell the person calling that and that you'll get back to them , doesn't matter who it is because that's a good thing to know as you grow up.
