Hi everyone - sorry in advance for the long post but I'm new here and hoping for some advice.

I'm mid 30's and I've got young 2 children. I have a some health problems that mean I'm a bit 'unusual' looking.

I've been through a lot in recent years and recently I've been trying to get my life back together, clean up my house house, get organised etc because I want to give my kids a decent life but I don't know how to improve my appearance, so I'm looking for suggestions. I usually wear jeans and a t shirt every day, no make up and trainers. I get so depressed when I see myself and hate photos, so I don't even have many with my children. I'd love to look "put together" but I don't know where to start, I've tried magazines and websites but they all seem to be aimed at super stylish people, I need a real idiots guide, can anyone share any tips?? And make up, I've never really done because I've always lacked confidence due to my looks but now I'm at an age where I think I should just make the best of what I am but where do I start?? I'm scared of looking like a kid playing dress up! Does anyone have any ideas where I can start? What I can do to just feel like I have an ounce of style??

I should also add I don't have much spare cash due to working part time so looking for cheap ideas where possible!

Thank you in advance for any ideas xxx

If you don't want to do anything drastic/radical just add subtle differences to begin with, change doesn't have to cost the earth! Head to a supermarket or primary and invest in a mascara and lip gloss - this is cheap, quick and easy. It takes seconds and not only makes a difference to outward appearance but also makes you feel like you've made more of an effort. Also invest in some good underwear and supportive bras - no matter what clothes you wear, if your underwear doesn't fit properly then the clothes don't look good on top. Try a strappy top instead of a t-shirt..you'll need a good/comfortable bra though! You can also buy what I call dolly shoes (flat black or other colour shoes, cost around £10) that can change up your look from wearing trainers all the time. Little, subtle changes make a lot of difference and can be done on a budget - hope this advice helps.. good luck and let us know how you get on! Smile

I meant Primark not primary! Autocorrect!
