Dad in Mums clothing as there is no Dadnet hope the mums don't mind
Mark29 · 05/08/2017 15:51
I have just joined as me and my wife have just found out we are finally expecting after a couple of years struggling and found so many articles that link to mumsnet so I thought I would join and hope I'm not the only dad. Most articles and posts do seem very s3xist for example why don't you help mum by cooking or doing housework well I do all the cooking in our house and my fair share of housework too and I'm sure I can't be the only one.

You're not the only dad, or only man in general.
Not sure what you mean by most posts and articles about help. You mean in MN? Or elsewhere?
Lweji · 05/08/2017 15:55
There IS a Dad's net, BTW.
Hidden somewhere in MN Talk.
But feel free to post anywhere you like.

Hi Mark
There are a number of males here.
You will see a lot of sexism (going both ways) here, stick to the shallow end of the pool for a bit and you'll be fine.
TheWitchAndTrevor · 05/08/2017 16:03
There are loads of dads on here, you'll be fine
I think dadsnet gets the cobwebs blown off once a year or something.
On the mumsnet part there are loads of topics to choose from, baby related or not.

Thanks for the replies I have seen the dadsn3t section but doesn't seem overly relevant for the I do I am after. Will stick to here
HateSummer · 05/08/2017 16:26
I don't get your post. Are you a cross dresser? Or trans?
Mark29 · 05/08/2017 17:08
Exactly dresses don't suit me lol I have hairy legs
NoMoreDecorating · 05/08/2017 17:13
So shave them Mark? Or wear thick black tights beneath
Lweji · 05/08/2017 17:19
Be proud of your body, don't be afraid to show your hairy legs, hun.
(polite notice: do not use hun on MN unless you're joking)

Congratulations on your wonderful news! Mumsnet has helped me massively over the years, it's nice to see a Dad here!
Banania · 17/09/2017 22:54
I think OP just meant that in the course of his new parent googling he has found a lot of the generic articles aimed at dads-to-be quite sexist and irrelevant...therefore he has come to mumsnet for some actual info.
That right?
Congrats, when is the baby due?
PacificDogwod · 17/09/2017 22:56
Welcome
And congratulations on your happy news.
I wish I had found MN before I had had DS1...
PacificDogwod · 17/09/2017 22:57
There are plenty of men on here, and non-parents also, all comers welcome, except for dicks
