Has anyone used one of the private diagnostic organisations? I have seen various clinics offering this from £299 upwards? Are they legitimate?

For ADHD? If you are in England you can go through right to choose (via your GP) and you wouldn’t have to pay

Thanks for reply, it’s a really long wait though. I thought about going private.

I was diagnosed (yesterday!) through RTC. Whole process from GP referral to assessment to picking up my meds today took 10 weeks. This is much quicker than I expected and I feel a bit shell-shocked.

Right to choose, HH Minds. Whole process has taken less than 8 weeks from initial appt at GP for 1st screen and I was asked today after diagnosis if I wanted CBT or meds. Feeling a little shellshocked at the speed and confirmation!

I went with Harrow Health, it was four weeks from being referred to diagnosis

The thing is if you go private, if you get a diagnosis and choose to take medication you will have to pay private prescription prices which are very expensive.

Oh so how does it work? Go to gp and as for a referral? Then go rtc?

Thats what I did..asked how I did a referral, got a 5min appt with practice ND HCP to confirm Info and HH minds contacted me direct

I had a letter from a psychologist which I sent to my GP. I also stated that I wanted to be referred via right to choose. My GP called me and then sent me a list of providers they worked with, I picked Harrow Health because of short waiting times. They’ve been brilliant so far.

Thanks all
